Sharing joy with every toy

Cops, Kids & Toys collects, purchases, and distributes toys and gifts to financially disadvantaged children in Tompkins County during the holiday season.

The program started in the early 1980s with two Ithaca City Police officers helping out a few children. It is currently supported with volunteers from every law enforcement agency in Tompkins County, the Tompkins County Probation Department, numerous local businesses, and many volunteers. Each year, the number of families in Tompkins County who are helped by Cops, Kids & Toys continues to grow.

Applications are accepted October 1 through the deadline of December 1 for families wishing to receive toys for their children.

Powered by the community

Entirely self-funded, Cops, Kids & Toys volunteers work year-round conducting numerous fundraising events in order to raise the funds spent on toys and gifts in December. You may have seen us collecting returnable bottles and cans at the Grass Roots Festival or helping at the Dump & Run ITHACA sale. Everything we do is made possible by the tremendous support of the community, from volunteering to generous monetary contributions and toy donations.

Monetary donations are deeply appreciated and gratefully accepted anytime. You can give online here, at any county law enforcement agency, or at the Tompkins County Probation Department. Kindly make your checks payable to Cops, Kids & Toys, Inc.
