The application will be available until November 20, 2022. Please get your applications in early. Please complete your application when you sit down, so that you know it has been completed. Remember that Late applications will only be accepted if we have gifts available for children. Pick-up Days are Monday, December 12, Tuesday, December 13, and Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 11am until 7pm each day. Our applications are only for children in Tompkins County, New York. We are sorry that we are unable to help other children in other counties or states.
Applications have changed this year, so please read through the application carefully. We are only having one pick-up option this year spread over 3 dates. Please put your children's interests down and not just toys that they want. We are buying from local stores again this year and are excited about the items we have been able to secure. We have never given video gaming systems, video games, cell phones, or gift cards to stores. We are not purchasing gift cards to the movie theater this year. Applications without child interests will be denied and parents will need to reapply.
We are anticipating having many families this year, so please apply early and on time, if you need help with holiday gifts for your children. Please remember that we can only support applications for the parents or the legal guardians of the children being applied for. We cannot accept applications for grandparents who are not the custodial guardian. Late applications may or may not be accepted and all children in a family with a late application may or may not be served, as it will depend on and on time what gifts we have and the on-time applications we receive. We are excited that Cornell is able to give us athletic tickets this year.
Applications are only being taken online. You can complete your application using smart phones, tablets and computers. Only completed applications will be accepted. If applications have phone numbers and email addresses that do not allow us to contact you with questions, your application will be removed. We will be using email, phone calls and texts to contact applicants and if we don't hear back, we will have to deny the application.
The ONLY pick-up location is at the Shops at Ithaca Mall, in the old Famous Footwear store that is across from Michael's and next to Claire's. We have 3 pick-up days to accommodate work schedules of applicants. Remember that Photo IDs are required to be shown to pick up a family's gifts and the applicant must be the person picking up the gifts. Please thank the volunteers when you pick-up!
If you sign up for Salvation Army, Cornell Elves, Toys for Tots, Trumansburg Area Christmas Assistance program, or any other assistance program, you may not also sign up for Cops, Kids and Toys. If multiple applications are found, your application with Cops, Kids and Toys will be terminated and you will not be notified. Some schools and school districts are not wanting to share Cornell Elf information, if that is the case with your application, you will be notified and it will be up to you to prove that you've not being served by the Cornell Elves this can be done through written notification from the Cornell Elf liaison at your child's school. You will be notified if this is the case, as soon as we know. We are treating all applications with equity and require each application to be vetted by Cornell Elves, Salvation Army, Toys for Tots and other area programs. If we cannot fully vet an application, we will have to terminate those applications.
Applications must have working emails and phone numbers, in order for us to contact you to verify your application. Applications with invalid phone and email will result in a termination.
If you move, please notify us. If you move out of Tompkins County, we are unable to help you and your application will be terminated. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
For questions you have about the application, you can email info@copskidsandtoys.org or call/text 607-262-4755.
We also have a question/answer section.
